Comment "WORDS" to this entry and I will (maybe possibly) comment back with five words I associate with you. Then you post this in your journal elaborating.
I dunno if I'll get around to giving people words, but I'll reply to words people give me...
Yuuo:
1. Electronics Yup, one of my big interests here. Mainly, in my case, optoelectronics. Always been fascinated by lights, and now I can use various little electronic brains (Hurray PIC microcontrollers!) to control LOTS of lights!
2. Strong Bad Ah, yes, world's most famous e-mail checker. Though there haven't been any new SBEmails lately.
3. Vandread My absolute favorite anime for a while there. Still like it a lot.
4. Crocodiles Old avatar I used for a while. Now I just tend to use the <R> diamond.
5. STICK FIGURE DEATH GAME Fun times on paper!

Sooooo.... long time no post. Don't be expecting anything of substance this time, either.
Anyway, back on topic.
This time I have a couple fun images from a character-type LCD module datasheet. Typos, bad translation, and odd images! What fun!
( Cut for HUEG-RESOLUTION images. )

Yep, after nearly two weeks of off-and-on internet connectivity after the move to Lincoln (Thank you, 'linksys', whoever you are.) I'm finally properly connected to the 'net once again!
Not that this means I'll post any more often or anything like that, of course....

Man, I seem to have bad luck with phones... Oct '07 saw a phone in the washing machine... And now... this. Not exacty sure how it happened, but was probably accidentally stepped on or something.
( Isn't it sad? )
However, it looks like I can get a replacement screen for $20 on eBay, so it'll be phone surgery time soon. W00.
On the plus side, I took the opportunity to inspect the insides of the top half of my phone and got the camera working again. Stupid loose connections.

Well, not really. Just a result of boredom, I assure you.
Out there on the interwebs, there is a site called Wordle. Here, you can upload a bunch of text and get a tag-cloud-like image showing what words are used the most.
Out of sheer morbis curiosity, I fed it one of the first things I wrote and still have a copy of. (Well, okay, it was a collaboration with Amanda, who I am sure will be just thrilled to be associated with it, but... eh.)
This is a story we wrote back when I was in the 7th grade. Quite some time ago. It's.... pretty bad, and shamelessly stole ideas from whatever I happened to be interested in at the time.
No, I'm not gonna share the original text, but I will share the result:

Photobucket Image Dump.
Including a short video of a "random" number generator. (Note, however, that it always generates the same number sequence each time it is powered on. Hence the quotes. As it turns out, computers aren't good at randomness, being more designed for predictability and all.)
Also: Awesome song

Take the letter you're given, and think of ten things that start with it that you like. It's sort of like Sesame Street. Then let others reply and play
1. Plastics. They make things possible. (Or so the old advertisement used to go.) 2. PIC Microcontrollers. Fun times. 3. Pratchett, Terry. Cheating slightly, perhaps, but I don't care. Fun author-guy. 4. Printers. Well, they certainly attract the attention of one of our cats. Amusing until he reaches in and bats at the print head. 5. POV-Ray. Used to LOVE this program, man. Had hours of fun. 6. Popcorn. Tasty. 7. Potentiometers. Especially the wonderfully-labelled "Bag o' Pot(s)" on my desk now. Hilarious! 8. Pi. Mmmmm. Pi. 9. Pizza. It really took too long for this come to mind. Especially since I just ate some earlier today. 10. Pargon. Pargon. Pargon. Pargon. Pargon.

Hey, it could be worse. I could have chosen "for glue the sex rubber mat," or possibly even "fast ether lord fucking net ascending," and nobody wants that.
What the hell am I on about, you wonder? A valid question, I suppose.
See more here or here.

All right. Normally, I'm ot one to make much comment on here regarding the various anime series I'm watching, but... I just felt the need to share.
So, lately, I've been watching Hayate no Gotoku, AKA Hayate the Combat Butler. This is, for those not familiar with it, a series that loves to make references to other anime/pop-culture items, including Michael Jackson and horror movies. (both US and Japanese)
This time, though, the one that prompted this post was an Utena reference. Now, the series has made a few other references to Utena, including a chapter name in volume 4 of the manga, and the classic phrase "Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku" being said at the end of one episode preview.
This time, however, was somethign else. A rather more... obvious reference. Really, about all they needed was a thousand more roses, some bells, and some weird music to round it off.

Fun times.
Next time, I'll rant about the new counting machines we have to use at some stores, and why everyone hates them.
